If you're planning to get a Nissan EV, we applaud your decision to go green! While EVs can lower your cumulative service expenses, they won't eliminate them entirely. Even though EVs have fewer mechanical parts than conventional cars, hybrids, and PHEVs, you'll still need to make an appointment to bring your EV to our Nissan service center from time to time.
Monthly Tasks
The monthly tasks your vehicle will need to have done are things most drivers can do on their own. You should do these tasks regardless of the type of powertrain your automobile has.
Checking your tire pressure at least once a month is an absolute must to keep you safe on the road. In addition to keeping you safe, monitoring your tire pressure and adjusting it as needed can prolong the life of your tires and ultimately save you money. We encourage you to pick up a tire pressure gauge in our Nissan parts center so you can check your tire pressure with ease.
Just like you should check your tire pressure every month, you should make sure you have enough windshield wiper fluid at the same time. If the fluid level is low, add more wiper fluid to the reservoir.
Every 5,000 - 8,000 Miles
When they contact our Nissan dealership, drivers often ask if they should get their tires rotated as often as they would for a traditional or hybrid car. Most drivers should bring their EV to our Nissan service center for a tire rotation every 5,000 - 8,000 miles, but some may need this service more often depending on the road conditions they contend with every day.
At Every 36,000 Mile Increment
To keep the air in your Nissan EV fresh and breathable, you should change your car's cabin air filter every 36,000 miles or so. If you live in a dusty area or a location that has poor air quality, you may need a new cabin air filter before you accumulate another 36,000 miles.
