A few weeks ago, our team at Gillman Nissan of Fort Bend introduced you to the Nissan Titan Truckumentary. We're excited to reveal two new chapters of the new 2016 Nissan Titan as Nissan tells the story of the next-generation full-size pickup truck's development.
A lot of labor, love and attention to detail go into the design of all Nissan cars, trucks and SUVs. Diane Allen, Senior Design Manager at Nissan, led the design of the original Titan and returned to head the process of reimagining the 2016 model. The team began by gathering inspiration including tools, working equipment and even pictures of a Titan god. This imagery came together in the chosen design - a truck with a muscular, confident stance.
The next step in the 2016 Titan’s development process was testing. Nissan continuously ran the Titan through a durability course located in Arizona. Here, the scene duplicated the most extreme wear experienced by trucks to see how the Titan will perform in 10, 15 or even 20 years. Nissan conducted every durability test with a human driver because of their ability to feel and convey things a robot could not. The team carefully and precisely checked every component from suspension to seats to tire wear in an effort to improve each piece of the Titan to the highest level.
