On the one hand, the Nissan TITAN and Nissan TITAN XD line of pickup trucks are among the most underrated pickups in the industry. But the fact that there is a clear distinction between the two vehicle’s names often brings up some questions from our customers in and around Katy, TX. So what exactly does set these two vehicles apart?

What the Two Trucks Have in Common

Let’s start with what the two Nissan pickups share.

For starters, they look markedly similar in terms of their general design, but there are other features that are the same.

Both, for example, feature the same 5.6-liter V8 engine capable of producing 400 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque, and their standard nine-speed automatic transmissions also are the same.

The interiors of both pickup trucks are the same size, featuring a five-passenger configuration with identical dimensions in terms of legroom and headroom. Those interiors also feature the same basic tech, including Apple CarPlay connectivity and the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of advanced safety features.

So, What’s Different?

The Nissan TITAN XD has a longer 6.5-foot bed. As the marque’s three-quarter-ton truck, it also boasts a longer wheelbase and taller suspension, proving size and heavier-duty work is what’s at the heart of the differences.

Not only can the Nissan TITAN XD tow and haul more than the standard Nissan TITAN, but it also comes with standard four-wheel drive compared to standard rear-wheel drive in the smaller truck. As such, the Nissan TITAN XD requires a slightly larger investment, so making this tough decision will be a conversation best left to you and your Nissan dealer.

Here at Gillman Nissan, we are happy to show you these differences in person so you can make the best decision about which Nissan pickup truck to purchase. Test-drive both of these powerhouses today!
