We all love winning awards, but when it's for something as important as energy conservation and sustainability, there’s an extra element of pride to it. We at Gillman Nissan Fort Bend are proud to announce that Nissan is the 2016 recipient of the Energy Star Partner of the Year—Sustained Excellence Award for the fifth year running. This award marks not just the achievement of excellence, but a habit of it.

While Nissan has made important strides in the electric vehicle market with the introduction of the Nissan LEAF, the awards aren’t for that. They owe largely to Nissan’s efforts to reduce energy usage, which includes switching to more efficient LED lighting, repairing compressed air leaks, boosting the efficiency of its industrial motors, and using an environmentally friendly painting procedure that cut energy usage by 30 percent.
In addition to the award received, two of Nissan’s U.S. manufacturing operations were recently awarded the ENERGY STAR Certification for the tenth year in a row, reasserting Nissan’s position amid the upper 25 percent of automotive manufacturing for superior energy management.
"Nissan is honored to once again be recognized as an ENERGY STAR Partner of the year. We continue to make improvements to our operations that reduce our environmental footprint as we manufacture the highest quality vehicles sold in North America." –Rebecca Vest, vice president, Corporate Development and Social Responsibility
"By continued collaboration with ENERGY STAR, Nissan is helping Americans save money, save energy, and do their part to reduce our nation's greenhouse gas emissions that exacerbate climate change. I'm proud to recognize Nissan with the highest form of ENERGY STAR recognition, as the winner of the 2016 Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award. Nissan demonstrates a strong commitment to energy efficiency and to preserving a healthy planet for future generations." –EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy
We’re proud of all the cars in the Nissan lineup, but we’re especially proud of Nissan and the folks who work in the manufacturing plants to install and maintain the equipment that helps Nissan be a leader in energy efficiency in auto manufacturing.
