Nissan has always been committed to building a better future in the communities of its customers, employees and local families. One way Nissan has recently done so is with its nationwide partnership with Habitat for Humanity.
A partnership began in 2005 following Hurricane Katrina, when Nissan donated $1 million and 50 Nissan Titan trucks to assist in efforts to rebuild the Gulf Coast region. Through this continued cooperation, more than 6,000 Nissan team members have volunteered around the United States and more than $12 million in grant money and donations has been provided. Nissan further contributes to Habitat of Humanity through an employee gift matching contribution program.
Habitat for Humanity seeks to strengthen communities by building homes, hope and opportunities for families to help themselves.
Recently Nissan Corporate teamed up with Heisman winners Tony Doresett, Doug Flutie, John Huarte, Matt Leinart, George Rogers and Troy Smith in a collaboration to give two days of service in a Los Angeles neighborhood.
"Working with Habitat, Nissan employees have logged more than 70,000 volunteer hours to improve communities across the country over the past 10 years," said Nissan Marketing Vice President Jeremy Tucker. "Now, with the personal commitment of time and effort from the Heisman winners, we're creating a one-of-a-kind partnership that can bring even greater attention to local needs for decent, affordable housing. We're grateful for their participation."
In February 2015 Nissan donated $500,000 to Habitat for Humanity, in connection with its Super Bowl XLIX commercial called "With Dad," to help people working to build a better future for themselves and their families.
