Competitor Analysis: 2019 Nissan Altima vs. 2019 Toyota Camry and 2019 Honda Accord

 

Far from being a relic, the midsized sedan segment is still fiercely competitive. Three models are particularly dominant: the 2019 Nissan Altima available at Gillman Nissan, the 2019 Toyota Camry, and the 2019 Honda Accord. So where should you be spending your hard-earned money if you're looking for a new car near Houston?

2019 Nissan Altima

The 2019 Nissan Altima arrives with a complete, and very attractive, redesign. Interior volume is comparable to its competitors, and the interior has a decidedly upscale feel even in the base trim. It also features a redesigned engine that delivers more torque and horsepower than the outgoing model. Unlike the other cars discussed here, there's no hybrid model available. However, there's one significant advantage the Nissan Altima offers that its competitors do not: optional AWD.

2019 Honda Accord

We expect the 2019 Honda Accord to look a lot like last year's redesigned model. By the numbers, it's very close to the Nissan Altima with regard to its passenger volume, engine performance, and other key specifications. This is one of the last cars in its class that still offers a manual transmission (the other option is a CVT similar to the one found on the new Nissan model). There's also a Honda Accord Hybrid available.

2019 Toyota Camry

The Toyota Camry is the biggest-selling vehicle in America that isn't a truck or SUV. It outperforms both of the models above on horsepower, and offers a hybrid variant as well. Looking for all-wheel drive? You won't find it here. You also won't find Android Auto support, and the company only got around to adding Apple CarPlay support in model year 2018, so the competition enjoys a bit of a lead in regard to in-car technology.
